Charles Garland

Partner

Charlie has been working in international financial markets for over 12 years, more recently exclusively dealing with corporate and government entities. Over a decade has been spent in Africa and the Middle East, with previous positions running a team of private wealth managers in Accra Ghana, and establishing an office for a UK financial consultancy in Istanbul Turkey.

Charlie has been with Claremont since the beginning in 2015 and is a founding Partner. Charlie primarily manages the operational capacity of both the ‘Corporate and ‘Wealth’ divisions, and manages clients at NM Rothschild, Morgan Stanley, Saudi Aramco, and IBM, amongst numerous other institutions.

As the driving force in the development and diversity of the Claremont Group, Charlie continues to push the company into new territories and to discover the full potential of the business.

Under his Partnership, Claremont has grown from a small Wealth manager into a multidivisional organisation, helping hundreds of private individuals and companies alike.

Marc Sydenham (ACSI)

Partner

Marc was part of the Claremont incorporation team in 2015, and is a founding Partner. Prior to that, he worked for Killik & Co in London and for St. James Global in South Africa and Egypt.

During his 13 years in the EMEA region, Marc has led teams of consultants working on numerous private client, corporate and government deals, ranging from complex UK inward investments in real estate to corporate pension schemes and restructuring global treasury. Marc’s client companies include Shell, Gleeds, Knight Frank, HSBC and Ernst & Young.

Marc is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and holds the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), which is recognised by the FCA to provide advice on Retail Investment Products and Securities.

Nicholas Rose

Head of Communications

Nick is a senior investor and stakeholder communications strategist and consultant. He has worked with leading global institutions, in multiple regions, to create corporate narratives, build brand reputations and deliver integrated corporate and sustainability reporting suites, embedding the business’ approach to ESG at its core. He is currently a member of the Investor Relations Society’s Best Practice Committee.

He has worked with large blue-chip organisations, not-for-profits and SMEs, both in the UK and internationally, supporting on brand and sustainability campaigns; pre-merger (CYBG/Virgin Money); post IPO (Perform and Pets at Home) and de-merger (Prudential) communication challenges. Nick has delivered award winning reporting campaigns and adds significant value to the Claremont Brand.

Over the past 15 years, Nick has partnered with senior directors and executives at large financial institutions (Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Barclays plc, Hargreaves Lansdown, Mazars and Standard Chartered Bank); media and telecommunications companies (BBC, Cable & Wireless, Millicom and Perform); natural resource organisations (Anglo American, Centrica, Petrofac, and Rio Tinto); as well as premium brands (Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and Rolls-Royce).

Joanna Dileto

Networking & Events

Jo works with Claremont as an outsourced consultant on your networking and events – Joanna also has helped the entire team extensively with professional development. A 12 year career in the banking sector in London, primarily with Standard Chartered, makes Jo the perfect fit for our public relations.

Jo’s core business is the People’s Coach (www.thepeoplescoach.global) and we have her to thank for an amazing synergy in the team, along with the fantastic events she has organised all over the world.

Claremont’s event series at the British Embassy in Riyadh KSA, has been a fantastic success, we look forward to Joanna’s role in the corporate divisions, and our event schedule.

Thomas Coombes

Head of Capital Advisory

Tom joined Claremont in March 2020 to run the advisory division and brings over 12 years of experience running both public and private equity funds across Singapore and London. He has worked with a number of multi-billion dollar investment funds including Alliance Bernstein and Janus Henderson Global Investors. Tom sits on the board of an Indonesian Private Equity firm ‘Indo Investors’ and uses his knowledge and experience in Asian Markets to complement the global nature of the Capital Advisory division. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Certificate and has an MSc in Corporate Finance from the London School of Economics.

Anthony Ray

Head of Business Development

Tony has a decade of experience working with companies from; entrepreneurs in the retail sector, to multi billion dollar global corporations. Tony’s wealth of experience is geographically spread across Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia.

A stint in Hong Kong with St James Place has provided Tony the additional experience we require in the Asia market, under the leadership of Mr. Coombes, in our endeavor to grow our Asian client book.

After 5 successful years in Business Development in the asset protection industry, Tony now leads international client acquisition. An exceptional team builder, with substantial experience in technology recruitment, Tony has built and managed teams globally and continues in this role for Claremont.

Patrick Aling (ACA)

Senior Advisor (UK / Africa)

Paddy is an experienced ACA-qualified corporate finance specialist and brings a wealth of knowledge, in both the UK and Emerging Markets, to the advisory team. Following eight years in Deloitte London, Paddy’s recent experience includes CFO of a start-up gaming company in East Africa (based in Uganda).

Key achievements include multiple successful global capital raise projects in Kenya Uganda the UK and EU, implementation of new finance function processes and controls in order to lay the path for high growth, improving management reporting, and optimising the wider Group’s structure. Paddy assumes dual roles as an advisor on the capital advisory team and Non-Executive Director of the Claremont Wealth business.

Temple Ray

Head of Corporate Services

Temple heads the UK Corporate Services division and manages a team of business development managers in the UK. Temple has extensive experience in personal finance matters with 8 years spent in pension management, mortgage broking and tax efficient structuring. Temple brings a broad skill set to the division.

Temple has an keen eye for spotting the faults in a company’s processes and implementing the right team to solve these issues.

We rely on Temple to get our business in contact with the right potential clients and we have seen great success with him steering this side of the acquisition business.
